Migration project passes halfway point

While we started the migration from Polopoly into EdWeb back in October 2014 we always said we’d start off slowly and then dramatically increase the pace between June and October 2015. And that is exactly what we’ve done. We’ve been measuring our progress by both the number of discrete sites we’ve migrated but also the number of published pages we’ve migrated. Either way you look at it we’ve definitely passed the halfway point.

15 down. 300 to go…


We are currently in the process of migrating all websites from Polopoly into EdWeb – our new Drupal-based Content Management System. Two small migration phases are now complete but we still have a long way to go.

Experience gained, alongside a feedback session and an in-depth review of the process, has allowed the migration to be refined and improved, ready for the next batch of sites due to be migrated at the beginning of March 2015.

The EdWeb distribution – it’s the same thing but with a different flavour

We’ve always wanted to make the new EdWeb CMS offering as flexible as possible and one way that we are achieving this is to allow people to take a copy of the CMS distribution; install it, host it and run it themselves. For those technically minded folk who know what a LAMP stack is the EdWeb distribution is now available for download. Details are at the end of this post.
