To move forward you sometimes need to take a step back and review the direction you are going in. That’s exactly what we are doing at the moment as our first CMS project closes and the next one opens. We hope to move into our next phase, the CMS enhancements project, in early November 2015.
When I’m not editing sites at UWP, I’m managing the University at the Festivals website, which is set to migrate into EdWeb next month. Having recently gone through the Editor Task Checklist to get my site ready, I’ve now seen both sides of the migration process and wanted to share some top tips on things you can do to make your site migration process go even smoother.
Due to the popularity of our trial EdWeb migration preparation session, we’re now going to conduct these sessions on a monthly basis to assist editors with their preparation work before their move from Polopoly to EdWeb.
Once again, we’d like to thank all those who came to this month’s WPC session. It’s been a very busy summer and this week we were pleased to announce the successful migration of our 100th site to EdWeb! This is a fantastic achievement and one that we are hugely proud of. However, there is still a long way to go and we continue to rely on your feedback and support. For this reason, this month’s session was all about you having your say!
We’ve had a few enquiries about the homepage carousel feature in EdWeb which we’ve strongly advised website managers not to use at present. In this post I want to explain the current situation, what our plans are, and why you’re probably better off without a carousel feature anyway.

The next regularly scheduled updates and improvements to EdWeb take place on Thursday 6 August and Tuesday 25 August. These deployments will introduce the additions of personalised subsite footers, customisable colour themes, and a new streaming media asset tool, as well as performance and accessibility improvements.
