The EdWeb distribution – it’s the same thing but with a different flavour

We’ve always wanted to make the new EdWeb CMS offering as flexible as possible and one way that we are achieving this is to allow people to take a copy of the CMS distribution; install it, host it and run it themselves. For those technically minded folk who know what a LAMP stack is the EdWeb distribution is now available for download. Details are at the end of this post.

Making usability testing agile

At the end of last year, I ran an open invite session for web publishers, developers and project managers in which I outlined how we’re conducting rapid, iterative usability testing as part of the development of the new University CMS, EdWeb. The presentation was followed by a demo of the process in which everyone participated.

Web Publishing Community session – 4 December 2014

At this month’s Web Publishers Community session we had a busy line-up. Duncan MacGruer gave us an update on the EdWeb project and introduced us to the EdWeb Migration Handbook, which is now available on the support wiki. Neil Allison explained the idea of applying ‘Agile’ principles to usability testing. In the more technical second half Arthur Wilson explained how he created Drupal content by importing from a spreadsheet.

Attending DrupalCon Amsterdam 2014

Bicycles. Canals. Boats. Tulips. Drupal. This year, Amsterdam had a new landmark to identify with. More than 2,300 Drupalistas attended the yearly European conference that gets the Drupal community together for a week to discuss all things Drupal, as well as other cutting edge web technologies and project management methodologies.
